STRESS AND HEALTHY DIET ADVICE:

Rapid Weight loss will occur with this diet! 

 

This condition develops as a result of life style issues,such as a death in the family,pressure at work,family demands,relationship difficulties or financial problems, which can lead to prolonged periods of stress.

During this period of stress the body produces adrenaline to increase energy enabling the person to cope with the problems,However,one side affect is to shut down digestion.Over a period of time undigested food passes into the bowel leading to a lack of good bacteria and the development of food intollerances .The nutritional status of a person becomes depleted and they experience tiredness ,making them more prone to feel stressed.

DIET ADVICE:

* Eat a simple diet of lightly cooked vegetables,fish,non-gluten grain (rice,millet,corn,quinoa) lentils,beans,seeds.

* Aviod  cold food or fizzy drinks - soups and stews are easier to digest.

* Aviod food and drink containing caffeine and alcohol,which stimulate adrenaline flow e.g. cola   and other fizzy      drinks,high energy drinks,coffee.

* Take a coffee substitute -dandelion  root or chicory or reduce to one coffee a day.

* Drink more water and herbal teas -green tea, chamonile, fennel, ginger, and rosemary.

* Stress ,gut inflammation ,overgrowth of candida and toxic overload  can lead to food    intoerances.a food  intolerance test can identify these foods which should be avoided for 6  months to allow the digestive system  to heal.These foods can be slowly re-introduced to your diet.

*if you suffer IBS a course of colonic hydrotheraphy treatmeant is recommended if you suffer  constipation and /or have a   candida overgrowth.

SUPPLEMENT RECOMMENDATIONS:

* Magnesium Oxide 250mg (1-2 tablets morning and night and 1- 2 at 10 o clock).reduces cramps and stress by    correcting mineral  balance.the right mineral balance helps the muscles in the gut to work  properly.

* Multivitamin and mineral supplement may also be needed to address nutritional deficiencies    if stress has been  prolonged .

* Digestive Enzymes (with meals ) - to support digestion

* Acidopilus - provides good bacteria to balance the gut flora which aids digestion and bowel  movement.( 1 Tablet in the morning and 1 at 6 o clock)

* Candiclear or Mycopryl - to reduce /kill candida (the overgrowth of bad bacteria} .(1 Tablet in the morning 1Tablet at 1o clock and 1 at 6 o clock

* Vitamin C. Omega 3 and Omega 6 oil capsules - again calm gut inflammation. 

* Flax seeds in cereal or soaked in water - eases constipation .

  Adrenal support supplement may be needed after prolonged periods of stress {prolonged  stress which can cause  adrenal hyperactivity can eventually lead to adrenal fatigue}.

DON`T EAT. 

Refined sugars,sweets,honey,or anything with these added fruit and dried fruit,Processed foods that have sugar in them,Sweetened drinks or fruit juices.White flour products like biscuits,breads, pasta,pastry,Alcohol - Beer, wine . spirits,Caffene drinks,Artificial sweeteners (except Zylitol).

These foods raise the blood sugar level very quickly and promote the growth of yeasts in the digestive tract.By avoiding these foods means reducing calories and so it is important to balance calories by eating foods containing protein and complex carbohydrates.

DO EAT:

Wheat free bread ,pasta ,Oatcakes,Ryvita crackers.corns thins,porridge,sugar free muesli,other Oat flakes available from health food shops .Seeds - sunflower pumpkin,flaxseeds,sesamenuts,flaked almonds,coconut flakes, pine nuts,Proteins meat (except pork),fish,sea food,lentils,beans,eggs, houmous.Soya milk rice milk,oat milk,any vegetables and salads,Fruit,and herbal teas ,lemon juice in water.

OTHERS TO AVOID:

Yeast is in bread,wine,beer,marmite,check incredients lists on any product your not sure about,Mushrooms and other fungi,nuts especially peanuts opened nuts contain yeasts ,Dairy - cheeses contain moulds,check food intolerance ,Malted and fremented products.

Treatment:anti fungal /yeasts supplements containging caprylic acid strong good bacteria supplement preferably capsules.

HOW TO AVOID FOOD INTOLERANCES AND LOW BLOOD SUGAR

1/  Eat 6 times a day - plan for 3 snacks as well as 3 meals.

2/  Eat whole grains,proteins,(inc.lentiles and beans)Omega oil foods (advocada,nuts,seeds,fish) to give slow energy and maintain blood sugar levels.

3/  Get tested for food sensitivities to avoid wind,bloating,and diarrhoea.

4/  Drink plenty of water and fresh lemon and lime  juice  and herbal teas.e.g. peppermint,fennel,dandilion leaf,herbal coffee - chicory and dandilion root (both aid digestion)

5/  Have meal times as time out ,rushing food hinders digestion.Don`t drink more than a couple of mouthfiuls of fluid with your meal as it can dilute stomach acid too much.

AN EXAMPLE DIET:

BREAKFAST:scrambled egg on weaten bread or ryvita crackers or glutten free toast

11.00:Rice cake / Ryvita cracker and nut butter

LUNCH:Soup vegtable with ryvita and houmous

3.00 A hand full of mixed nuts (brazilian,almonds,pine nuts,walnut,peacans,hazelnuts

Dinner:Stirfry withChicken and Rice

9.00 Amaranth ceral flakes with rice milk ,or Soya milk, and soya cream

ALTERNATIVE BREAKFASTS:

* Natural yougart with mixed seeds and dessicated coconuts or flaked almonds and berrys acai.

* Quinoa porridge with linwoods powered flaxseeds and goji berry

* Rice porridge with creamed coconut,flaked almonds or pine nuts and mixed seeds.

* Poached egg fried courgette strips

*Wheat  or gluten free ceral flakes with rice milk or soya milk .

* toasted  wheat free  muffins or crumpet with nut butter.

ALTERNATIVE SNACKS: 

*Corn thins with mashed avocado and salsa dip.

*Ryvita with philadelphia cheese non fat spread or tofu spread

*Natural youhurt fat free with flaked almonds and black or blue berry walnut or pine nuts or any  natural  fruit 

*Mix seeds

NUTS:- Almonds brazils,walnuts,peacans,and hazelnuts are best (peanuts,have yeast toxinsin them as does cashews are only good if you want toi put on weight

*Rice cakes with houmous/oat biscuit

*Oat cakes with home made chicken liver or mackeral pate

*vegtable sticks,mangtout,baby sweetcorn to dip into houmous or yoghurt dips.

 

TAKE NOTE:

A 30 minute MASSAGE will increase your energy levels and recommended after exercise/or first thing in the morning and last thing at night.
